"WALK WITH THE MAYOR" POSTPONED TO OCTOBER 7

Pasadena, Calif. (August 31, 2009) – The "Walk with the Mayor" event with Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard and special guest, Israel Estrada, Executive Director of Pasadena Forward, originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, has been cancelled due to unsafe air quality caused by the nearby Station fire. The event at the Rose Bowl has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2009.

Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard and Israel Estrada, Executive Director of Pasadena Forward, will be joined by Pasadena Forward staff and other community leaders and members in walking 3.1 miles around the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 7:30 AM. Radio station 100.3 FM The Sound will be joining us in spirit of the upcoming 2010 Pasadena Marathon presented by Kaiser Permanente on February 21, 2010.

“Walk with the Mayor” is Up & Moving Pasadena’s effort to encourage the community to embrace fitness for health. Walks are scheduled every first Wednesday of the month.
